Thessalonike was a Macedonian princess who legend states that her brother Alexander, bathed his sister's hair in immortal water. When Alexander died his grief-stricken sister attempted to end her life by jumping into the sea. Instead of drowning, she became a mermaid passing judgement on mariners throughout the centuries and across the seven seas.
